A new dating site called SingldOut uses LinkedIn as the primary registration method and then employs a DNA matchmaking system. SingldOut partners with InstantChemistry, a leading solution into the DNA or genetic matchmaking niche.
Dr. Wendy Walsh is associated with the Instant Chemisty but I don’t think has any association with the SingldOut dating site. However, this new dating site called SingldOut has been getting a lot of media coverage from USA Today to ABC News and many other major media outlets.
According to the SingldOut site they claim, ‘SingldOut is an exclusive dating site connecting single professionals via LinkedIn. We are the first in the online dating industry to bridge the gap between the digital and biological world of Love.’
Here is a look at the DNA kit you receive. Sexy, right?
I sort of see that ‘gap’ as more of an ocean with online dating and screening someone for DNA living in two distinct universes. There are or have been other DNA dating sites such GenePartner.com and the now defunct Scientificmatch.com. I would also share this research article for additional interesting reading as well as this article from MSNBC dating back to 2009 which also expands on the issues about DNA matchmaking and shares some points that suggest genetic matchmaking will never really gain any traction towards being a mainstream method of meeting singles.
