Online Dating site match.com has a scholarship contest open to children of past members who met at Match.com. The official home of their scholarship contest is at MatchMade.com.
I was not aware of this MatchMade scholarship (which appears to have launched back in May) until I saw the #MatchMade hashtag being used on twitter and then read about it on the official match.com blog. Here is a video Match.com shared about the scholarships via the Match.com YouTube channel.
My immediate reaction what a clever way to highlight success stories from their dating site using social media.
Match.com often uses social media to push new programs
In just the past year we have seen match.com (review at that link) use social media sites to push efforts like Stir Events (Their local dating events) and TopSpot (The program to have your profile featured at the top of match results).
This particular effort has had a lot of success via social media using the Twitter tag #MatchMade. As a matter of fact some of the top videos have near 20,000 Facebook likes and thousands of retweets. The Match scholarship winner(s) are set to receive a $50,000 college scholarship. You can vote for the videos and get ideas for your own submission for future MatchMade scholarships at MatchMade.com.
Inspiring to say the least!
